Alexa Chung Update

I've recorded and watched every "It's On with Alexa Chung" episode so far. It's good, okay!

I just wanted to send props to the talented cutie ptutie Conor Knighton of Infomania, who I already gushed about here 5 million years ago. MTV, do you know how impressed I was with you after I got over the shock of seeing him on the show? Good job! You deserve a pat on he back for that decision.

He was great, especially for his first time. And you could tell Alexa liked him because she gave him a high-five in the end. Hey, MTV, keep your good streak going and bring him on the show again. I would also be pretty awesome if you brought Sarah Haskins, also of Infomania and Current TV fame, who does the revered "Target Women" clips.

Hmm other suggestions for future celeb-gossip-guests (I love how they keep rotating):

-Perez Hilton. That would be hilarious. Seriously, get on that.
-Trent of Pink is the New Blog
-Michael K of the hilariously snarky blog Dlisted
-Kathy Griffin. yeahhh girl.
-Rosie O'Donnell. HA.
-Tom Green. OMG can you imagine.
-Rich from the fourfour blog. Please! Also his famous cat Winston would get major bonus points.
-Tracie, the girl that does the "Pot Psychology" videos with Rich on Jezebel
-the ~famous mods over at ONTD - mattchew03, ecctv, and brenden
-Martha Stewart. or Ina Garten! omg how great would that be if it was both of them.
-John Mayer. He's funny, mmkay.
-Joel McHale of The Soup!
-some of those people from the now cancelled Best Week Ever THE SHOW. Not the blog and that horrible BWE blog woman (ok gosh she's not horrible I know I know BUT SHE IS) Michelle something or other. Not her. I'm talking that guy that was always high... people like that. BTW Michelle or whatever was a mega bitch the second time she was on "It's On." WTF girl, chill and go away.
-Adam Lambert. Yeaaahh.
-Simon Amstell or Alex Zane! bring some British imports por favor.
-Kanye West! Hhahaha.
-Lady Gaga. yes please.

Ok that's enough. MTV show poducers pay attention, I have provided you with solid gold right there.

Also, the more the merrier on the same show. Today three members of some sketch comedy group talked with Alexa about the gossips and it was a lot funner with less awkward silences than usual.

And Alexa, you are marvelous darling. The girl is a natural. Keep doing your thang.

Crotchless Illusions

Alexander McQueen has created some *scandalous* tights and leotard-type-things for his Resort 2009 collection. Maybe they are an "F you" to hipsters who wear these things (have you ever noticed the word "tard" is in leotard? There is a reason for that. Unless we're talking about ballet of course. They have no choice). Or maybe he's joining in on the hype, albeit quite late. Anyway, behold:

The rest of the collection can be seen here.

And here are pictures of the new Alexander McQueen store in L.A., via Kanye West's picture-ful blog.

Kanye & M.I.A

Kanye West's blog amuses me to no end...

Here is something he posted recently:

pic taken from deadstockdon.com sidebar my jacket look crazy short lol!!!!

I don't even know why but the highlighted part made me crack up. I can't believe Kanye writes "lol!!!"

Oh, and update about the crap day I had today- the make-up AP Calc test was horrible (but at least I showed up at the right time) and then I lost an event for my relay team at swim city finals. I dove off of the diving block too soon, apparently- before my teammate touched the wall. I had no idea. Ugh, this type of shit happens to me too much. I'm starting to think "I had no idea" is not an excuse. But anyways... we would have gotten fourth place in the city, but with my stupidity we got disqualified and get nothing- no metals, nothing. Nice end to my swimming career, right? When will this hell end... I'm like a magnet for chaos.

Ideal Musical Collaboration: BFlow + Kanye

I was just listening to this Chris Martin (Coldplay)/Kanye West collaboration, "Homecoming."... it's, eh. Nothing special. I used to listen nonstop to Coldplay and I still like their older music (I just cooled off a bit when X & Y came out). But I don't think Chris works so well on this song. It's like he needs to change his voice a bit to fit it, because his voice is perfect for Coldplay songs but it feels very out of place in this song.

Anyway, while listening, I thought of how Kanye would probably kill to collaborate with Brandon Flowers (of the Killers, duh). No that's not just me making shit up- he has mentioned in plenty of interviews that the Killers are one of his favorite bands, and for a while last year he would not stop gushing about them.

Now, this is what the BFlow/Kanye relation has been these past couple years as far as I know:

-The first time I read anything involving the two, it was in a Killers interview with I believe Spin magazine around the Hot Fuss era. The whole band was asked to comment on people and events in pop culture at the time and one of the people was Kanye West. Brandon naturally said whatever came to his mind without censorship (that was before he started biting his tongue. Ah- the golden age of bitchery). He said, to quote him:

He makes me ill. I wanted to love him so much when he first came out. He has this sweet voice, and there's a cuteness to it. And then you see him in interviews and he's like a lion. It just ruined the whole package for me.

So no lovey doviness whatsoever thus far...

-Then Kanye discovered the Killers around the time he was making his new album (I'm guessing that's partly why there's so much synth in his songs now) and slobbered all over them in interviews for a while. He said they had "bigger hooks" than TV on the Radio (indie snobs around the world collectively gasped)

-then it was reported by one of those trashy "star sighting" websites like The Sun or something that Kanye and the Killers were seen partying together at a club with their own table and debauchery and the whole deal. Oh really, now?

-Finally, in another interview with the Killers a little bit later, Brandon was asked about Kanye after the interviewer mentioned how Kanye seemed to be a fan and Brandon said something along the lines of "he's great" in a gushy sort of way. Oh really???

So that was the transformation from icy feelings to a whole love fest between Kanye West and the Killers. And, naturally, this must culminate with a collaboration! The idea actually makes me really excited- I'm sure it would turn out excellent. For some reason I just have the feeling that Brandon's voice would work very well with Kanye's. Notice I'm not saying Kanye should appear on a Killers album, but the opposite. Brandon should feature on one of Kanye's songs, like this Chris Martin deal. I think Brandon would be a million times better.
